Digital Forensics Specialist – Employee Laptop Investigation

Summary

The client is looking for an experienced digital forensics specialist to examine a company-issued laptop and determine whether company files or information were copied, transferred, uploaded, deleted, or moved to an employee's personal devices or accounts.

The laptop has been formatted, so the specialist needs experience with forensic recovery and analysis of available artifacts.

The investigation will focus on one laptop and should identify evidence related to USB devices, external storage, personal cloud accounts, email, browser activity, file synchronization, deleted files, and other potential data-exfiltration activity.

  1. Demonstrated digital/computer forensics experience.
  2. Experience investigating employee data transfers or potential data exfiltration.
  3. Experience with Windows or macOS forensic artifacts.
  4. Knowledge of cloud-storage forensic evidence.
  5. Browser forensic analysis experience.
  6. USB and removable-media forensic analysis.
  7. File-system forensic analysis.
  8. Experience recovering or analyzing deleted artifacts.
  9. Ability to preserve evidence integrity.
  10. Proper forensic documentation skills.
  11. Experience preparing reports for management or legal counsel preferred.
  12. Knowledge of forensic tools and investigation methodologies.
