Summary
We are looking for an experienced BESS and European Power Market Analysis Expert to conduct detailed analysis of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and European short-term electricity markets.
The project involves analyzing market data, identifying electricity price drivers, evaluating BESS revenue opportunities, and conducting detailed viability and financial studies. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in energy market analytics, financial modelling, data analysis, and European electricity markets.
The analysis will primarily focus on short-term and intraday power markets, with an emphasis on understanding market dynamics, trading opportunities, price formation, and the economic potential of BESS assets.
Experience working with European market data and platforms such as EPEX SPOT and Nord Pool will be highly valuable.
- Strong understanding of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Experience with European electricity and power markets
- Knowledge of short-term and intraday power markets
- Understanding of electricity price formation and market drivers
- Experience analyzing BESS trading and revenue opportunities
- Strong data analysis and financial analysis skills
- Experience with market research and energy market modelling
- Ability to analyze large historical market datasets
- Understanding of continuous intraday trading markets
- Experience with EPEX SPOT market data is highly preferred
- Experience with EPEX M7 continuous trade data is a strong advantage
- Experience with Nord Pool continuous intraday tick history is preferred
- Understanding of IDA auction order curves
- Experience analyzing order-book depth and trade data
- Ability to develop BESS viability and profitability studies
- Strong Excel/Python or similar analytical tools experience
- Ability to create financial models and revenue forecasts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex market insights clearly
- Experience working with energy data vendors is a plus
