Blender 3D Artist for Architectural Visualization & XR

Summary

Irish National Opera is looking for a freelance 3D artist or architectural visualiser to create a concept-level 3D model of a room that is being renovated within one of our buildings.

The model will mainly be used to show the proposed look and feel of the renovated space to internal and external stakeholders. It will also be used as a starting point for XR experiences in the space.

This does not need to be a survey-grade or construction-grade model. The main priority is creating a good-looking and believable representation of the proposed space while staying as close as possible to the available 3D scan and design materials.

We can provide a 3D mesh scan of the existing room, basic architectural layouts, artist renderings of the proposed design, and photographs of the current space.

There are no full construction measurements available, so the 3D scan should be treated as the main reference for the dimensions.

  4. Ability to work from 3D scans and architectural layouts
  5. Experience with existing-room reconstruction
  6. Good understanding of real-world scale
  7. Strong texturing and material skills
  8. Ability to organize and manage texture files
  9. Experience preparing models for real-time rendering
  10. Understanding of polygon optimization
  11. Unity/XR or mixed-reality optimization experience is a plus
  12. Ability to separate important architectural elements into individual objects
  13. Good understanding of coordinate systems
  14. Ability to work from photographs and artist renderings
  15. Strong attention to visual detail
  16. Ability to follow existing design references
  17. Good communication and file organization
  18. Portfolio with relevant 3D/architectural work
